[Title]: There's so much to do

Been a little while since I've finished putting together the weblog section together, so I guess it's time to write up an proper one to start this thing.

This website is a ton of work. While it's not particularly hard to update, I also tend to side track into other things frequently so I end up taking way longer to finish things than they should. Just today I spent some 6 hours just updating basic shit, interspliced with the occasional game and Blender work (more about that in a bit), but at least I got a ton of stuff done! This weblog section is something I've long wanted to include in the site, but I've always put off because it'd be a lot of work, and I could just... y'know, not do it? (I'm so lazy) But coming to think of it, it's a better move to have this weblog early than not, since it allows me to write more freely than the stuff I'm gonna put on the wiki.
...oh yeah, about the wiki.

I'm still unsure about how to handle The Archive's Wiki. Yeah, as I've stated, site's hella meta, but it's still... hard to write, specially since I want to include so many little tid-bits and little trivia in places where, in the end, they just don't fit. There's also the fact that there's like 20 feckin' pages that I need to either make or complete, plus anything else that may stem from them???    It's tiring to even think about it. But I'll do it, one day.

Anyway, in other news, I'm working on an actual 3D model of Seth. I've actually been trying my hand at this for almost 2 years now (first blender file dates 05102023), and I wouldn't say that I'm getting close to getting a full-fledged model done, but a working prototype is on the horizon! It's actually gonna be my first model with actual fingers (most of my previous models had mittens for hands), so that's pretty exciting! I'm gonna put up a picture of him in his wiki when I get to a satisfactory enough state. I'm probably gonna have to overhaul the entire model later to fix the mistakes that I did, but I'm really happy with how he's panned out.

Oh! Also, on BH-P37254, I'm still working on it, mainly by watching media and playing games of the time period. I downloaded some 64 PS1 games and a couple N64 games (still gotta build a collection for the NES, SNES and GameBoys), and I gotta tell ya, I honestly prefer them to a lot of modern titles. I was pretty neutral coming in, didn't really have an opinion about most of them, and I'm unironically really surprised at how complete and nice the experience is. It's probably gonna take a few years for me to go through all of them, or at least the most important ones (SO MUCH FINAL FANTASY TO PLAY!!!), but I'm okay with that. I like these games.

As I mentioned, I've also been indulging in some media from the time, though that's mostly through music, since I haven't gotten my hands on the good movies, series, and the most coveted TV programming I need (scrounging around archive.org is so laaaame -_-). I also have to figure out a way to host all of this on my server, since I'm currently pretty low on space, and my server is literally empty.

Oh, uh, about that. I haven't touched upon it much, but yeah, my computer situation is pretty whack. I currently two computers, one which is my main (who's dearly nicknamed "Baszta" ('tower' in polish; alternatively MAQUINA3), and another which I turned into a server (MAQUINA4, or "Daleki" (roughly means 'remote' (as in from far away or))). My main computer runs an i3-4170 (3.7GHz), 12GB of DDR3 RAM and my precious Sapphire NITRO RX 460 (4GB), while the server has an i3-4150 (3.5GHz), a measily 4GB of RAM (for a few reasons I won't get into) running Debian 12 (the best of server software (bite me)). I'm still figuring out how to properly use servers, but it's going pretty smoothly in my opinion. SSH keys are a pain in the ass, though. I'm honestly unsure if I'll keep using them, since honestly, this is just gonna be running on LAN.

But yeah. That's about it. I'm gonna wrap this up for now. See you on the next one.

[04082025 09:06]: As stated in Entry 4, M4 DALEKI has had it's 1TB HDD mothballed for my brother's computer (SparePC/ARQUIMEDES).
