Deliverance (alternatively 'Deliverance: A P37254 Story', originally 'BH-P37254') is a fictional story taking place in the real world years of 1990 to 2005. It follows the footstep of "The Five", a dysfunctional group of glorified mercenaries as they navigate this world.
This series originally started as a simple character insert fanfic to the Bleating Heart webcomic, but it has since expanded and largely surpassed that initial scope.
The story is split into 4 large chapters, roughly evenly spaced in the 15 years that the series goes over. As the current draft goes, a lot is to be covered; The main cast of characters travel between 8 countries, plus most of the story in the 2nd chapter onward takes place in the US, especially the New England region and St. Louis.
For a brief overview of the chapters, Ch.1 mainly focuses on getting their characters on their feet and establishing tone. This chapter follows four perspectives, as "The Five" are split. Fohnyx and Seth do mercenary work for the Slovenian and Bosnian armies during the breakup of Yugoslavia and ensuing war, while Devon, Aleph and Misato are scattered around Europe, namely England, Germany and France, mainly trying to survive, while also slowly chipping towards some other objectives. This chapter has a large emphasis on the brutality of the war, while also taking some time to be a little silly.
Ch.2 mainly follows Fohnyx, Seth and Misato as they move to St. Louis, Missouri for the next part of their plan. This chapter mainly focuses on the objectives completed during their time in St. Louis, along with some updates of Devon's and Aleph's sideplots. This is the start of the end.
Ch.3 has "The Five" reunite and settle in. There social issues take a larger role in the plot, namely homophobia and transphobia, but the fruits of their plan is still the focus.
Ch.4 is the grand finale of the series. No details will be shared yet.
Due to the time and place, a lot of care needs to be put in making things right. Deliverance, although just an animated series, still aims to be an accurate portrail of the events that happened during it's running, as well as the culture and all other aspects of the era. As my plans go, I also intent to not anglicise everyone, and will try my best to accurately portray all native languages shown and their local forms (totalling to 7 languages and like 8 different dialects of English). This, along with doing research for other things, such as getting all the buildings and streets right, getting licenses for the music (there will be a lot of music in this), fact checking, and researching the tech , and making a decent and believable story, means that, like mentioned, this series will take multiple years or decades to be completed (specially as I don't work on it full time and never will). But I persevere.
